March 26 experts of the company, Dmitry Akhmedov and Philip Koltyga, addressed the students of the Institute of International Educational Programs Polytechnic University with a lecture on how branding operates. Students of different courses specializing in “Advertising and Public Relations” on the example cases of Volga Volga able to learn about what is the identity of the difference between b2c- and retail- brands from b2b-brands, as developed complex systems of identity, what challenge and solves the problem of branding in the real world. After the lecture, Dmitry and Philip answered numerous questions from the participants. Our publications in book Finally the 500-page brick of a new “Identity” In has arrived to the Company’ office. We are pleased to announce that Volga-Volga experts are authors of two of the 15 matters of the book, illustrating the main directions of development of identity today. By the example of a single visual image for the Documentary Film Center, the dynamic identity case was presented by designer Sergey Vasilevsky: “… Always trying to find an essential core to build an interesting identity, which will determine how it will work, formulate the basic properties and quality of the system. This idea could be shaped later. Idea to play with the word “center”, expressing it visually, I liked more than others. So the idea of dynamic logo based on the concentric circles appeared. The system may have a variety of options and will vary depending on the context , without losing its recognition… In the future we decides to abandon the context design of circles, but these restrictions have benefited – it was created the set of characters of simple geometric shapes. The decision was born in the balance of Soviet graphics, architecture and modern minimalism. Red triangle appeared on logo, symbolizing the light of the projector. This allowed to mark the symbol unmistakably as suprematist. As a result, the graphics have become more compact, versatile and easy to use”. Detailed material in Image part tells about the practical aspects of project management of regional branding – the promotion of St. Petersburg as a tourist center. The idea of the case was built around the typical stereotypes of Russian culture and Russian reality which exist abroad, being identified in a large-scale study. Pavel Sivokhin, our Design Director, participated in the meeting of the jury Award for excellence in design and advertising ADCR Awards 2014 held on 22 May. This year, organizers used a new evaluation system, according to which, each case could get a nomination in one of four criteria. Judged cases, filed in the Design category, in a vigorous and constructive debate and this hard work took all day. Info about the Professional ADCR Awards 2014 : Professional jury selects the best work of the year in the field of design, advertising, modern communication, sets the bar for the originality of ideas, expression of words and images in general, and flawless implementation of innovative solutions. Volga Volga performed at Touristic Start-Up in Grozny The Second youth business-session Touristic Start-Up took place in Grozny at 11-13th April. JSC Resorts of North Caucasus organized it with support of the Committee on tourism Chechen Republic’s Government. One of the questions at Session was advancing the North Caucasus as a touristic direction. Dmitry Akhmedov and Philip Koltyga, experts from Association of Branding Companies Russia – branding-partner of Session, took part in section “Territorial branding as instrument of rising owner’s culture in tourism field and hospitality industry”. Philip, as a moderator of section, has described methodology, steps of brand development and discussed with the audience a search unifying idea of brand for entire North Caucasus. Dmitry told how to overcome negative stereotypes of perception territorial brand. Volga Volga Brand Identity’s project about promotion Petersburg as a touristic center was an example. Result of The Second youth business-session Touristic Start-Up was the acceptance of resolution, which includes paragraphs about development of conception and promotion strategy for unified brand “Resorts of North Caucasus”, and also an establishment of North Caucasus Federal Region’s Tourism Council – coordinating authority about development and promotion North Caucasus brand as touristic direction.
